Just a short drive west of Surfers Paradise, nestled near the charming country town of Canungra, you'll discover the tranquil hideaway of Illinbah. There is a property owned by the delightful couple, John and Linda, which boasts one of the premier downhill mountain bike trails in the South East Queensland (SEQ) region. Over the years, Illinbah has played host to a number of prestigious events, including the renowned SEQ DH Series, round 1 of the Australian National DH Series last year, and most recently, Round 3 of the ORA Winter DH Series in 2023.

During Round 3, participants were treated to an exhilarating and unforgettable weekend, both on and off the course. As they raced down the challenging and demanding Illinbah DH trail, adrenaline coursed through their veins, fueling their excitement and determination. However, the excitement didn't end there. In between heart-pounding laps, riders took advantage of the picturesque campgrounds and invigorating water holes, creating cherished memories that will last a lifetime.

Jack Druery, renowned for his mastery of Enduro and BMX disciplines, astounded spectators with his extraordinary abilities and sheer talent on the track. Despite facing unforgiving conditions and dusty terrain, Jack's unwavering determination and exceptional skill set him apart from the pack. Crossing the finish line with a remarkable time of 3:19.44, he left his competitors trailing in his wake, solidifying his position as the indisputable frontrunner and a well-deserved champion.

The event was supported by Kenny Racing Australia, Funn MTB, and CST Tyres, who provided prizes for every category.

Off the Brakes and Boomers Bike Park didn't disappoint, delivering cash prizes of $250, $150, and $100 for the top three positions in the Elite and Under 19's categories.NSD Dynamics also chipped in with some awesome suspension service vouchers for the Under 17's.

Just Ride Nerang and We the Riders supported the younger categories with vouchers at their store and online store, respectively, for the Under 15's and Under 13's. The Ladies were on course again setting it on fire.

Join us for Round 4 at the end of August, where the rider named "xmas chute" will be bought back to life as we race DH 1 at Boomers Bike Park.
